The Ozark 2001 is a good quality solid timber mandolin. It is built and hand finished in Romania.
The back and sides are made from solid maple and it is fitted with a solid spruce soundboard. The soundboard has a traditional mandolin inlay around the sound-hole. It has a maple and ebony bridge and a maple neck with slotted headstock. The back facing open-plate geared tuners are simple but effective. It has an 'A' style engraved plate tailpiece that accepts loop end standard mandolin strings. It is finished in a durable satin lacquer. You get excellent tone and volume for a fraction of the cost of what you would normally pay for a solid top instrument. Brilliant value!
