The bodhran drum is now considered an integral part of traditional Celtic and Irish music, and is enjoying a huge growth in popularity. Thought of as the heartbeat of Irish music, it is a single headed frame drum. Dating back to pre-Christian pagan rituals throughout Ireland, the bodhran is associated with major festivals such as Saint Stephen’s Day and the celebration of Saint Bridget held on 1st February.
